Spooner Grade

Spooner Grade is the route US Highway 50 follows between Carson City and Lake Tahoe. It goes up Clear Creek Canyon to Spooner Summit, where it meets up with Kings Canyon Road. Kings Canyon was the first route up to Tahoe, but in the 20th century Spooner Grade became far more popular. Today Spooner Grade is the only one of the two that is paved.
