V&T Locomotive No 6: Comstock
V&T Locomotive No. 6, also known as "The Comstock", is a historic locomotive that once ran on the Virginia and Truckee Railroad.
The Comstock was badly damaged by some runaway freight cars on January 16, 1875. It was the lead engine in a double-header coming up from Carson, in front of The Humboldt, and the three cars rolled downhill from Gold Hill and hit the engine head on. No lives were lost, but major damage occurred. Main article: 1875 Runaway Train Collision.
