Shoeshoe Thompson

John A. "Snowshoe" Thompson (1827 - May 15, 1876) was a pioneer resident of the Eastern Slope and one of the first mail carriers in Nevada. He is best known for carrying sacks of mail on foot between Genoa and Placerville, beginning in the 1850s when the mountains were impassable to wagons in the winter.
