Category:Nevada State Historical Markers
From Carsonpedia
The Nevada State Historical Markers program is an effort to provide on-site historical markers at key locations around the state. Each of these markers is made of metal, forged in the shape of the state of Nevada, painted blue, and offers a few paragraphs of text about the historical significance of a building, site, person, or event that was located near the marker.
The program was started in 1967 as a way of brigning attention to the state's history and highlighting important sites for both visitors and locals. There are currently 266 of these markers scattered around the entire state. Some are easy to find, in heavily-trafficked areas, and some are quite remote.
See below for a list of markers on Carsonpedia.
